Ive been getting addicted to dishcloth knitting again here's another

As you can tell I ran out of the main color but that was fine with me, its a great way to destash the green was a tiny ball of scraps that now is just about nothing only good for stuffing a toy.

Now I have started another dishcloth this time it will be pink and with have a heart saying love to knit! Then who knows what Ill knit I do however need to start knitting for winter that is quickly approaching.

I have been really busy. Its been a while since Ive show off what Ive been doing sorry for that. I made a kimono for Gavin thinking it would be cute with a long sleeved shirt under it but I don't even like it enough to block it. Its just too bulky but the point was I was trying to use up the yarn because I don't really like it. This will most likely end up in my etsy store http://www.greenmama.etsy.com/.

This hat I made for myself also another bulky yarn given to me. I hate bulky yarn but I love this hat. Its simple and easy.

I also made a hat for Lily. I don't know why I choose this color because it does not match her winter stuff but I like it anyway and the color looks good on her!

And finally two washcloths. I love this simple pattern it knits up corner to corner which makes it a little more interesting and the yarn overs make the cool design on the edges. These are for a man named Chris who I am swapping with. Hes giving me a bunch of acrylic yarn so I can make stuff for the ICU. Ive always wanted to I hope this will give me more determination to get it done. They did so much for us Id love to give back to them!

So there they are my finished objects. I'm currently working on another washcloth that I need to get done asap because I have a knit along starting the 16Th for another one. I am trying to up my washcloth stash as I am always running out. I'm also working on a hat for Justin (my husband) but I cast on more stitches and now I'm afraid its going to be too big for his head. I might just be gifting it to my brother Matt for x-mas luckily he has a big head. Sorry Matt. That's all for now!

Well Ive finally started the tedious task of cleaning the craft closet. I opened up my yarn tote and found a big mess, tangled yarn, yarn ends all over, labels, and a few needles. What did I do. It took me a about an hour to tighten the yarn ends and tape them on the skein so they dont do this again then I re organized the tote and made it look nice. I have a separator in the bin to keep natural fibers alone but I'm pretty sure I need a new big and the natural fibers side is filling up and I'm getting a yarn donation of acrylic Sunday. So I can knit a bunch of hats for the babies in ICU. Anyway this picture shows some of the yarn ends and just pieces and small balls i will never use that I will never use. Not much i know but I was glad to get rid of it.

On another not a few days ago the kids and I did a bug hunting adventure and I never posted the pictures. We had a blast finding bugs, catching them in our jar, looking at them with out magnifying glass and releasing them. Well all but 1 (my frog was hungry).

So here are a few picture of the kids exploring which is so exciting to watch!

Gavin was inspecting the grass looking for grass hoppers with were everywhere. We did end up catching a baby one boy they are hard to catch. But they are fascinating and have such a powerful jump.

Here is just one of the bug we caught. I wish i knew what kind of spider this was. We also caught a bee, a beetle, and a moth. Then we came home and drew pictures of what we saw.

Ahhh Decluttering Feels Wonderful!

Today I woke up sick but to be honest I should say I went to bed sick first. Yesterday I did not feel well all day. Its my stomach, just fells yucky and a bit painful. So anyway I woke up the same way and it really bummed me out. However being a mother of two I can never just hang out and relax, I just cant. Not that My husband wont let me because he kept telling me to lay down but because there is always so much to do. I mean I hear a mothers job never ends but gosh its just so true.
So anyway today I started a mission I decided I am going to get rid of 100 things in my home. I need to give away, throw away, recycle, free cycle, or otherwise remove from my home by the end of the day. I kept track of each item as it went. I'm so proud of myself and I think my husband was shocked. So I started by taking my daughters crib down and putting her in her big girl bed (i took the top bunk of the bunk bed down for her) then I proceeded to clean the kids room which is really what started it all.
So here is the crib with all the stuff that left my house today

Well I have to do it. Let me just say this has not always been this way. I used to have this under control, organized, clean, and well gorgeous but I had to take the shelf out for something more useful and now I'm just stuck on what to do here. So please look at these picture with no disgust but with pity as i have a ton of work to do and no clue where to start.

But before you see them just know the reason I am letting you in on my dirty secret is because I'm appalled by it and I need to make a change. I feel if I let the world know my secret I will be more apt to change the sick reality (keep in mind the rest of my house is very clean and I'm not just saying that).

This my readers is my craft closet. wonderful things come from here but you would never know it from looking at the mess. I need organization fast. So this week that is my task to figure out what to do here and make it organized and well orderly.

Wall Art how to

I'm sick of looking at my white walls. Living in an apartment and not being able to paint drives me well NUTS. If I had it my way every wall would be a different color well OK every room. But for now I have to improvise. Since I'm broke Ive been trying to figure out how to decorate my walls first I did the recycled art now this...

I had this vision of it in my head last night and just had to make it. So here's how you do it

First you need sturdy cardboard I used a cardboard box, you also need yarn and any kind will do, an exacto knife, a hot glue gun, hot glue and time.

Now figure out how big you want your circles, I traced around a large cup. The you make the inside circle and cut them out.

When you have them all done then you can start wrapping yarn. First attach the yarn with hot glue i used tape to show you where to attach it but you cant even see it in the picture.

now just start wrapping the yarn not too tight but now too loose I did not want it floppy looking but you should do it how you like.

you can wrap on loosely and then tighten them to your desired tension after a few wraps.

and just keep wrapping, this takes patients and a bit of time but stick to it!

I used variegated yarn for mine I love how the colors change. Make sure not to twist the yarn it needs to line up or it will look wonky. Here's a bad wrap.

So now you have to attach a piece of string so you can have them hanging together. just pick the length you want mine are about 3 inches apart and glue the string on make sure to do this before

you done wrapping to create a neater look. This will end up being the middle of the piece.

To join them you have to glue on the other end of this string to the next ring then start wrapping continue doing this until you have as many rings as you want done. That's it! Now hang and enjoy!!! Id love to see pictures so If you do this please give me a link to the picture!

Trash Can Woes- Painting a trash can

Ill bet your wondering what that is right. I love it Looks like wild and crazy graffiti to me! So this is my trash can. The kids and I decided to give it a face lift. I mean come on who came up with the idea to have a white trash can anyway. I was sick of it looking so dirty all the time no matter how many times I washed it and no matter what I washed it with. So we got creative! I set up acrylic paints in a few different colors and we had a blast the kids really loved this project and to be honest I did too. I wish I had more trash cans to "decorate" So here's the finished product.

I was a bit worried about how tacky it would look in our kitchen or how much it might stand out, but I think it looks cool! The best part is that the kids were so proud of it when their dad got home they were so excited to show him what they had done. SO go ahead get crazy and paint your trash can!!

One yummy batch down 2 to go!

Well this turned out to be about 40 cookies but I made them a bit small so the kids don't est too much junk! They are just so yummy I had to share a picture.

So now that you have seen them I know you want to make them. I hope you love them! I have perfected this recipe over the past few years to just the way we like them (very peanut buttery) and this time I added Vermont chocolate candies you can add M&M's, kisses, or peanut butter cups if you like or leave them just the way they are. If you add the candies do it right after you pull them out of the oven so the stick.

Ingredients-
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until well blended. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla one at a time. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press each ball once with fork tines.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are lightly browned.

The next best thing to barefoot just came in my mailbox!

I have been wanting someone to make me these for oh soooo long and Luisa Patterson owner of Croched Little Things www.piccoladonna2006.etsy.com came to the rescue. We worked together in figuring out a trade that she would also love and 40 recycled tags and a bunch of thank you cards later I got these wonderful shoes.

I wanted them because when i moved to Burlington I soon realized I cant walk barefoot as much its just too dirty so when I saw a pattern for these I knew I had to have them. Luisa and I made the arrangements to do a trade first she bought the pattern and ordered the colors of yarn I chose and quickly got these done in two days! 5 things you dident know about me

1- I'm lazy. Yes I sure am. I sometimes get big bursts of energy and get so much done but lately I'm just plain lazy. I know its not a thing to brag about and believe me IM NOT. I don't enjoy that Ive been this way, and honestly I feel bad for the kids and the house. Ive been such a bum. My kids usually get out of the house to do something at least 3 times a week and the house is moderately clean so im not terribly lazy but I sometimes wish I were that super mom that had a blast with the kids and had a spotless house and a wonderful homemade dinner. It will never happen and if it does it only last a week and there goes the house again.

2- I need my nap- my kids have been on nap strike for a few days lately and I'm going crazy I need sleep too. I know if i went to bed earlier i would not be so tired but no matter what that time of day im a blob even if I was my lazy self during the morning.

3- I hate white shoes- I know this is a really dumb fact but i was looking at my white walls thinking how much I hate them and it made me think of white shoes. Oh how i loathe them. I mean why would anyone want them. "hey look at my new shoes" kinda people I guess. I don't know. I have to say my husband is a white shoe guy and it drives me nuts he has 2 pairs of identical white shoes (he got them each for 8 dollars) and I hate them. My son has a pair of white sneakers and I never let him wear them, is that bad? Well I think the reason there is because they are the kind that light up and have a big cartoon on the side (Thomas the train) anyway the point is I hate white shoes. Period.

4- I love junk food- though I know how bad they are for me I just cant get enough, waffle fries, burgers, fired chicken, nachos, oh the list goes on. The funny thing is im so picky about ingredients. The burger must be turkey (sometimes ill eat beef but its very very rare) the waffle fries must be cajun with cheese on them the nachos must be veggie. Oh junk food how I love thee.

5- I cant sleep without beer- another very bad thing only half true though. I can sleep without having a beer at night but for some reason it takes me forever to fall asleep. It annoys me that this is true but i think I have gotten so used to that beer ever night that when I don't drink one I just can get my mind to stop thinking so much. Seriously I think about 25 things over and over at night and it keeps me up. I would say that's a form of adhd wouldn't you.

well I'm getting prepared for winter. I'm very nervous about being stuck in side this year because that kids are older and have so much more energy. Somehow I am going to have to keep them busy and happy so we don't all go crazy. The other day I bought Elmer's glue 3 for a dollar and then I decided that I need to start stocking up on things to entertain the kids this winter. Ill have to buy games and fun toys to hide away for especially boring times. I suspect Ill be able to get a bunch of stuff from craigslist and free cycle but Ill have to buy the crafty stuff. I want to make sure that I not only have a lot but I want a good mix of stuff too. So today I found this

Ive been working so hard today at bettering my shop. I'm taking all new pictures and boy is it a ton of work. I think it will be worth it though I want my shop to have a more uniform feel even though I have so many different items in it. I love this new picture the detail is great and I think it shows the item well

Its funny ii set up this whole photo area you would laugh if you saw it I had long sheets of paper taped from the wall on my back porch then it went down over the table, you wouldn't know from the pictures but they came out great! I plan on having a sale when I'm done to get rid of some things I'm no longer going to make but better pictures will help the sales also! Etsy is a hard place to sell and I keep hearing pictures and promote those are the best way to get noticed and get sales so I'm working on both first pictures then I have to promote.

Its amazing How one person can hate clutter but love stuff. Sounds funny I know but that's me. I absolutely hate clutter and could never be the kind of person to collect wicker baskets or little figures. The idea of collecting amazes me all the effort, money, time its just all so intriguing. But I could never allow myself to do it, never. Its too much useless stuff (in my mind) I just think if it has no really purpose why keep it, I also like to have things that serve more then one purpose and to me looking at a collection of lighthouses just does not do it for me.

However, I have tons of stuff and the more i get rid of it never seems to make much change. I mean in the moment of decluttering it is noticeable but a month later not so much. One huge example if my craft closet I have cleaned that 3 times in the 6 months we've live in this apartment and its still overflowing and unorganized. Will I ever get that right? So OK I admit it I do collect crafts such as fun pattern paper, stamps, yarn, and junk that can be made into things, my scrapbooking has been halted because of the enormous need of stuff for that hobby. But since i have so many crafts I do (now Ive added sewing) i have no way to truly organize it all. At least not in my small space.

The point of this post is to show you how much i have been decluttering lately because I'm feeling good about it! I started in that disaster craft closet but no pictures were taken of that because I'm afraid to show anyone. Seriously I don't know how I find anything in there. Maybe that's why I never put anything back..

So next I moved to the kids room to be honest I rarely clean it I just don't see the point. Most days ill maneuver a broom around in there to get up any crumbs and trash but that's about it. So i finally got fed up and started the enormous task of cleaning it. So here is the final result

the rug was taken out for some fun later in the day! Now it was nap time and it was much needed but it never happened instead i found this (keep in mind that we just cleaned the room)

But ya know it always works that way doesn't it. See I was going to say the clean room would last a few days because everyone knows it never lasts. well in my case It lasted through lunch and well that's about it. Poor me. So we gave up on nap time I was busy and had mind set on cleaning. So we all jumped in the bathtub and started stomping on the laundry. It was in rinse mode. So we all jumped around and got soaked but it was productive fun! I think the kids were surprised I was letting them do it but I was in such a great mood and wanted them to have fun while working. Once we rinsed I left the laundry there for a few Min's and came back only to find Gavin and Lily had dumped shampoo all over the clothes, ugh back to rinsing. Then we hung them out to dry

And scrubbed the rug that was fun too the kids really enjoyed it i don't know how much my downstairs neighbors did but they did and our rug is clean so I'm happy too!

So all in all it was a busy day at home and a fun one at that! and ya know what i think ill do it again tomorrow!

After Mindy helped me figure out my machine well now I'm just hooked. I put the kids to bed last night, ran to my craft closet, and pulled out my shinny white machine. I started cutting fabric from my bag o crap and proceeded to make Gavin some pants. When he first saw this fabric he said he wanted a pillow but I have no stuffing left and no pillow forms. Besides he has 2 pillows. So i decided to make the pants. As you can tell the fabric is upside down and i did drawstring for the waste but overall I think for a first project (with a machine) I did well. Check them out!!!

FINALLY!!!

Thanks to mindy we got my machine working. I coulednt for the life of me figure it out. Then after a little guessing and reading Mindy figured out for some reason the needle has to be in the fabric to begin sewing. Im so thrilled! Im going to sew and sew somemore and just keep going! Thanks Mindy you rock.

Lily loves to have "buttons in her hair" we started collecting hair clips a few months back and her collection is starting to get pretty big, she wanted to try them all on at once and I thought its be cute too so we put them all in. Gavin helped of course.

We also like fancy hair ties (Lily not so much) so I made a few more for her. I pulled out the tiny scraps and Lily helped pick out what she wanted and also helped me press the buttons. I thought if she helped she would be more likely to wear them so here they are aren't they sweet!

Jodis Craft Emporium added a lovley crochet dish cloth these aer made from her own design that I absolutely love (I have one for myself). This crochet little piece can do wonders plus be used for a coaster and facial cloth as well as a dish cloth. This piece took me a half hour to put together. Well I can no longer enjoy this

Not for a bit at least. I stepped on a tack and it scraped across my left foot leaving a large and deep scrape that is very painful. Then i tried walking barefoot at the playground and yes it filled with dirt and is now infected. Bummer. And ya know I did this in my house not outside, it seems every year i injure a foot and its always inside. So Now I'm stuck having to cover up my foot for a few days so think of me as you walk barefoot in the crisp wet grass.

As for the triumph, Gavin (3 1/2) went to bed for the first time without his passy!!!!! YAY we lost it and i told him we would look in the morning. He went to bed without a fuss and when I found the passy later on I threw it out. That's as much of a success for me as it is for him because tomorrow when he asks for it I wont have one to give. Wish us luck over the next few day we might have a crabby 3 year old. Ill let you know how it goes!

Lily is two today hooray hooray!!

I know people say the time flies but honestly it seems like her first birthday was forever ago. newborn to one flew by but 1 to 2 went so slow. I have to say being a mom of this little girl is hard work. She has so much energy and can be so stubborn, but she can be so sweet when she wants to be. My favorite thing about Lily, she loves to cuddle with me. As long as I "tickle" her feet (rub them) she will lay with me. And it is so sweet.

A few days ago we decided it was time for a new pet. One our 3 year old Gavin could help take care of (wishing anyway). He was talking about a fish and Justin (daddy) wanted a hamster. So we all got in the car and went to the pet shop. There Gavin ran right past the wall of fish to the...lizards go figure. We told Him we cant have another reptile its bad enough I have to separate the two frogs. Anyway we took him to the rodents and he was so excited. In the end we got a lovely little girl. Meet Banapple the not so friendly hamster....

Shehates people and has red eyes but we all love her anyway!

So i created this super de duper easy eye patch because my silly boy has been playing pirates a lot. Here it is...

Shiver Me timbers

with worsted weight yarn co 2 stitches knit in garter stitch to about 12 inches

now we start the rows

row 1 - k1fb knit to end k1fb (4 stitches)

row 2 - k

repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have 12 stitches

k2tog knit to end k2tog (10 stitches)

next row knit all stitches

continue these two decreasing rows until you get to two stitches and then knit the 12 inch tie and bind off. weave in all ends and wear!!!

See wasn't that easy!

if you want it bigger simply increase in the same manner as rows 1 and 2 to desired width then decrease in the same manner until you get to 2 stitches again.

The new clean room

Finally a room I'm happy when I walk into! I spend over 2 hours cleaning the kids room and even though I know it will be a battle to keep it this was I'm willing to take on that challenge. I love how the room looks. I really cant wait for the kids to get full sized bed but until then this is how their room will look.

The main reason i rearranged the room is because of the super cool train table I have been working on for them you can see it in the picture below. I needed to find room for it and originally I was going to put in in front of the window but I know they would just climb into the window and if I put it in front of the closet door they would just climb up and turn the lights on and off. so I found a spot for it and its great and there is enough room to keep it away from the wall so the can get at it all angles!

Another thing I did was scrub their car carpet I bought that for them fro Christmas from hearth song it is chemical free so its not letting off harmful chemicals for the next 5 years. The carpet says machine wash but I cant see the 6 foot carpet fitting into our machine so i got out the scrub brushes and the kids and I got to work. We dumped on the Liquid sunshine and started scrubbing we all got soaked but it was fun teamwork! Then we rinsed it in the shower and hung it out to dry. It looks great!!!

The last pictures shows the corner that will be their book nook. I'm going to make a TON of pillows and knit a pad for the floor below with some yarn I'm not so in love with. I also have to figure out how to decorate their room and I want to make them a new curtain, so I have lots of work to do!

5 mile walk... for this

Before I show you why I walked five miles with 2 kids in a double stroller I want to show off a few picture of some of the things we did last week

first we walked to the YMCA
we had a blast making boats from foil, playing in the ball pit, painting, jumping, to rolling and tumbling. Then the kids got their faces painted! Gavin's is supposed to be a red and yellow cat and somehow Lily has a butterfly (only Justin sees it)

Finally our 5 mile walk, to where you ask. Only the coolest place in Burlington!
First we walked the 5 miles and went to a play ground then a little farther we found a path in the woods we walked down it and found this....

so we followed it only to find the coolest tree house ever!
Gavin was scared and he is not the type to be scared of much. He would not walk around on it unless he was glued to my leg and holding my hand Lily the one who is scared of heights love it, I don't think she realized she was up high in a tree. anyway this is such a cool spot, I can wait to go back and have lunch here!

shh don't tell Justin I'm thinking about another baby. Every time I'm looking up knitting patterns and see really cute babies or baby stuff

to knit, it makes me want another so bad. Seriously look at that baby and tell me he is not so super cute. So I started thinking if i got prego now then Gavin would be 4 and lily would be almost 3 (right) and that's not soooo bad but then I think well it could be Gavin is an interesting 3 year old I cant imagine what Lily will be like. Also I think about going places and how much harder it will be so then I think Ill wait a year and a half to get pregnant but that seems like forever. so I'm just going to finish this post by saying nothing is 100%, I may have another baby and If I do I wont be homeschooling. Or I may not have another baby. But odds are I will because if I keep thinking about it I'm not done, no matter how stressful my life can be.

To me this is evil, wicked, and rude. Why you ask?
It steels my son from me, teaches him things he really shouldn't know, and aids in his famous act of ignoring me. So here are a few tips on how to get this monster to stay off....

First build a tent in the living room. I promise it will result in hours of imaginative play.

Then Invite over someone with 3 boys and then tell all the kids "I don't care, make a mess" it will result in this

But, they had fun! Next break out the mighty octopus and a barrel of play dough and let them create, wonderful things will result.

And finally end the day with rice! Fill up that water or sand box with rice and yup bring it on in out of the cold and let it flow through their fingers all will enjoy. Don't worry about the mess it is so worth it.

and what keep the TV off for good ol mom? Knitting another washcloth mindless knitting that turn out to be oh so useful!

So together we decided that yes our children will be homeschooled! I am so happy. They will also be doing some public school but only a few things like physicay education, music, and maybe another.
My children diserve the best and I personally feel that homeschooling is that the best. I will post more about the subject in days to come but for now im off to bed.

Being a child is such an amazing thing. Their little minds just go go go. This is Gavin's "water park" fully equipped with water falls, sprayers, spinners, and shooters. Who knew you could turn a pile of magnetic blocks into a water park?

I wish I could just forget all my worries, put down my todo list and imagine the way his little mind does.

Today was an interesting day as soon as I woke up I was on the move. Making sausage while Justin made eggs and fired potatoes then laundry and a complete overhaul of the kids room. Those kids have so many toys, I know everyone says it but its so true. The worst part, when ever i go through their stuff, I say to myself oh i should knit such and such to go with that and by the time I'm done I have 5 knew knitting projects. After cleaning their room I was off to fold and put away all that laundry ugh. I cant wait for the yucky weather to go away so I can get my stuff back out on the line. I cant begin to tell you how excited I am to have clothes smell like the lake. Did you know the lake had a smell, its so yummy! I love living here!

So here is my new project,

yup not to far I know but I just started it so give me a break. I'm making Gavin a hoodie for the cool days of summer. I keep making things for sweet Lily and feel so bad because I just have no clue what to knit Gavin besides hats and winter stuff and I'm so sick of winter and all the "stuff" that goes along with it. Anyway I'm not at all crazy about this yarn but Gavin picked it out. I like letting him pick because he is much more likely to actually wear the finished product. Ill keep you posted!

Well Ive been crafting so much I don't know what I have anymore. I went thought my stuff and found things I didn't have posted. Like these lovely tags...

I remember making them and loving them as much as I still do but I never posted them on etsy. Whats wrong with me. I guess I am too unorganized.

I also found this... I love the colors of this yarn is it 100% cotton yarn I got from a local shop and when I look at it it makes me want to buy 5 more skeins of it. It would be a lovely summer tank or even skirt for Lily. She hates skirts thought so I might have to make a tank with it. That reminds me, I'm in the process of making a tank for my etsy shop I thought long and hard about what people might want for summer and when knitting is you hobby that's hard to do. So i realized I love all the tanks I have made my daughter so why wouldn't others love them for theirs right?

So anyway my task for the week... get organized! I need to figure out some way to organize that mess of a craft closet that works. I need to be able to open the door and know exactly where my orange sissors and red buttons are! So tomorrow I will begin. I will be taking before and after pictures so that way I know I have to prove myself!

Barefoot

Its all I have been thinking about walking in the grass barefoot, I miss it so much. I hate confining my feet to shoes, absolutely hate it. I wish for warm weather so badly and I know my kids do too. Gavin said "summer we have no shoes outside" he is so cool he knows his mama well!

Seriously though why do we have to wear shoes we don't cover our hands in the spring, summer, and fall shoes make now sense to me. I get it you say "your feet get dirty" SO WHAT. Wash them. As for stepping on this it rarely happens and when it does oh well. Its worth it to me

I came across this pic. in a yarn shop online and love it (besides the fact that their legs look broken). I wish I had made it. ha ha. Anyway I wanted to share it with anyone who knits and hasn't seen it.

So lately I have been knitting (SURPRISE) like crazy I'm working on this wonderful skirt for Lily I started it 2 days ago and have it almost done which is very exciting. I only knit at night so this is fast for me. It was a little challenging at the increase row but mostly because I was counting wrong and forgetting where I was. Then I realized I was doing kfb instead of just casting on another stitch. OOPS Here is the pattern http://magknits.com/Sept07/patterns/skirtsicle.htm but I am using a different color. Now that I'm talking about it I want to work on it. Funny how addicting knitting is for me. My queue in ravlery is huge. Ill never get all those things knit in time to wear them this summer. I wish I could devote more time to knitting but if I knit too long and in the wrong lighting my eyes start twitching and I know that cant be good. Anyway I'm off to knit again night night!

Starting a new chapter

I see our life as a novel, and I want to start a new chapter in ours.

We have plans to move to Burlington, I'm very excited. There's more opportunity, experiences, and diversity. Such an exciting place I want to be part of. There are more people there "like me" and that in itself is exciting.

We have been looking at apartments, applying, and Justin's been doing a little bit of job hunting. I want to go back to school but I have changed my career path. I want to own a small business. I want to sell my own handmade clothing, knits, cards, and crafts. Its a very exciting idea. I dream about it, and how I would set it up, the things I would make and sell. If only I could start it all now.

Now its time to work towards that goal!

The last years with you I bonded deeply with you. I looked up to you and respected you, I still do. I hate myself for being annoyed with stupid things you did that now only seem so stupid. I wished I had just ignored them. I know you don't care and that it didn't matter and also that I annoyed you sometimes too. I wish we grew the bond we had earlier, we became very close I know you felt it too. I know you knew I looked up to you, you taught me so much, I wish I could learn more from you, what an inspiration you were. I still feel saddened that we never got to talk about me being pregnant, I know you were worried I would not finish school, I will go back Gus, next semester and finish just for you. I wish we had that talk because now I feel like Ive let you down. I hope in some way you know I'm doing OK, I can handle it and I will succeed. It just kills me to not know what you were thinking, or to hear what you had to say. Life goes on without you but believe me its not better off that way. I love you dear brother.

I hope this opens your eyes. Every 1 person can make a difference even if you don't think so. Think about it if you get a styrofoam container from a take out resterant instead of bringing your own reausable container it will take that styrofoam container 1 million years to decompose same with a plastic milk jug. A tin can takes 90 years while a aluminum takes 200-500 depending on the peoperties in it. So recycle and use things that are reuseable.

I cant stress enough though the styrofoam containers. 33% of waste in landfill is made up of them so why not bring your own container. Its not that hard! Also paper is 29% of the trash in landfills why was it not recycled?

As for bags at the store what do you use? Plastic bags take 50 to 80 years to decompose a paper bag takes a month that may seem like nothing a month right. But when there are 4300.000 or more a day adding to landfills thats not months anmymore thats years just to get rid of that days worth. You can buy reuseable bags at the store for a dollar. I bought mine online for about 5.50$ each but you dont have to. The great thing is the stores sometime reward you by giving you five cents back for each bag everytime you go. say you buy 8 bags and shop 3 times a month thats about 15 dollars back a year. so you earn money!

Inconvenients - too hard, too much trouble, someone else's problem
Ignorants - these people are simply unaware of a link between the environment and their litter behavior

I Love this potholder, it needs to be blocked so it is flat and straight but I love it. I recycled an old shirt that does not fit me. Dont you love the design! sorry for swearing but every time I finish knitting something I cant show it off. Sure I can scan it but that does not give it any dignity. I started knitting longies for Gavin (for those of you not "in the know" they are pants for cloth diapering to go over the diapers) anyway I love longies and even thought Gavin is potty trained I wanted to make him a pair. But I can never knit anything that takes more then a few days so before I even go to the crotch I ended up turning them into a hat. The hat ended up being super cute Ill have to share the pattern when I can post a picture that shows its true colors! someday soon Ill get a camera.

So last week I started fetching for those unsure here's a picture http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTfetching.html so I did mine in purple yummy yarn very similar to the yarn suggested and the color is nice and the idea is nice I just wish the fit was tighter. Anyone make these what do you think? I never started the second because I'm a bit bummed maybe i should knit them on smaller needles then suggested epically since I'm a very small girl with very small wrists and thin hands. Anyway just thought Id share some disappointment.

wow! I love watching my kids roll in the snow and throw snowballs. Something about it is calming really. They have so much fun and I can see it in their little faces their just filled with joy and excitement.

Today i watched Gavin try to carry a snowball that was bigger then his head he was walking all lopsided and all I could see was 2 eyes peaking over it. What a silly sight it was.

We went for a walk in the sled and this year it is so much heavier then it was last year.I put the rope around my body and that made it much easier. For some reason Lily thought it was funny and kept saying "silly, silly" . Anyway we had a ton of fun today! Just wanted to share it.

Ok so it is 1:36am everyone is sleeping but me. I am wide awake. Thanks to the nap I took today. Latkey I have been exausted because I have been taking care of Levi everyday and have to wake up at 7:3o am. Im not used to that my kids dont wake up until 9 usually.

Anyway today Justin and my dad went and got a christmas tree and the kids were so excited. It was funny though because they seamed more excited about papa then the tree. But we ended up decorating the tree which was tons of fun. Lily kept just laying the decorations on while gavin was very specific about where he put his. I wish I had pictures but If you remember I HAVE NOW CAMERA, Tomorrow we are going to take the kids to a John Gilamore concert. They will be thrilled. The last time we went i only took Gavin but the music is great. John is from Vermont! and s\he is awsome and gets the kids really involved. It should be a ton more fun now that the kids actullay recognize his songs. I think they will be very suprised so that should be fun. Then we are coming home and baking cookies. Gavin has been bugging to cook a lot latley weve made cookies, playdough, and 2 dinners together so now we are going to make more cookies its christmas and yes im making them whole wheat (yum)

I finished a skirt for lily today (knit) and it is so pretty she will wear it tomorrow i cant wait till i can post a pic and show it off, I made it have a drawstring with red and green pompoms for x-mas. then after x-mas ill just cut them off and put another color- so she an wear it all year!

Ok, so I know I have been slacking on here but.. ever since my camera has been broken I have been so bummed that I cant load pictures. I have compleated many knittin gprojects and cant show them off. AHHH. I made a dino for Gavin for x-mas, a tank for lily, a skirt for lily, a present for dad, and a hat for myself. all since november 8th wow. 2 days ago I got invited to join ravlery and have been glued to it. What a wonderful knitting world it is! My knitting list has grown pages I cant knit fast enough.

On to another subject... Today we wrote our letters to santa. Gavin asked for a trumpet, guitar, and drums. ( he loves music) so he is going to get all of those things because he is spoiled. I found the perfect trumpet and we are getting the new guitar because his other one broke and for some reason he just does not like the electric as much ( by the way he is only 2 3/4 years old).
I dident know what Lily wanted shes so young. I worte she wanted a doll made by the elves because she dident want it made in china. lol. I hope santa gets a laugh there. Anyway we sealed them and walked to the mail box and the kids put them in the slot. They should be thrilled when they get letters back!

Oh my it is 1 am i should go to bed. I just felt like I should post something since its been awhile.

I dont know if anger is the right feeling. Justin said "he's just a kid, kids do that stuff" and I know they do but now we have to replace my camera AGAIN because of him. The first one he threw at the cabnet, this time.... in the dish water. Everything went down hill from their. Lily cried about everything nonstop for about an hour and a half. Mostley because she kept climbing on things and I had to take them away. Gavin kept dumping out the toy bins making a huge mess because he was pretending they were buildings in his make believe car town. Then Lily pulled off her diper somehow and got her poo everywhere. Needless to say i was reading their bedtime story at 7:20. It was a stressful night. As for the camera, it wont even turn on. I hope I can at least salvage the memory card so we dont have to buy a new one of those too. I did load all the pictures on my pc last night so I did not lose anything, thats one good thing that came out of it. So I guess now im going camera searching. Even though Im a bit ticked and we dont really have the money (at all) for a new camera I really need one and I'm kinda excited to get a new one. Ug I feel a little better after writing this down. I think now ill waste some time looking at craft blogs and knitting patterns. ahhh that will relax me.

I am so excited. I finally made a sock. I was so nervous about knitting a scok because of its complexity I tired three times to make this sock from a pattern on lion brand. I got the yarn and was going to make tons for the kids to wear well after 3 attempts i gave up and used silver socks pattern! And I got it! these are the coolest most comfortable socks ever I ended up using the yarn that was supposed to be for the kids socks. Looks like I will have to order more!!! i cant wait to do the other one!

Its funny to me that still after 4 years i get those butterflies in my stomach around Justin. Like tonight Im waiting for him to get home and keep thinking about how our anniversary is coming up. I dont even know how to explain what love feels like true love ya know. Its so difficult to explain. He honestly makes my heart throb. I may get annoyed and even mad at him sometimes but i always feel so stupid after like why did I just wast my time getting mad about THAT.We have not fought in a year at lest I mean yeah we bicker once in a while but havent fought for at least a year and when we did it was because fo wedding stress. Our relationship is so wonderful I am so happy with him and my family and my life. I feel like I am so lucky. When I was young I thought for sure I would never be lucky enough to find a man who loved me and respected me. I thought I would grow old alone and maybe be lucky to have a child or two.
No I have my husband and my two kids my life is so wonderful. I am so happy. I hate to go on and on but Im really just trying to get my feelings out of my head. I love telling him sweet things, leaving him notes for in the morning, and even cooking him dinner. I love doing things for him because I want to spoil him when I can. He is a wonderful man. I know I choose well.

my poor poor husband has finally had enough. He asked to have our anniversary off and "the man" is making him work. This is our first anniversary. Justin is angry not just because of this but because anytime he needs something he gets "f"ed over. Another example is he asked for the week before christmas to take his vacation he is supposed to have 2 weeks he only took one and "the man" says he has no days left. Justin is fed up and is seriousley thinking of giving him 2 weeks notice. Obviousley I understand hes sick of working there hes been there 7 years and has hated it more each day. However im worried about this. I know he has a few other jobs he can manover around but im worried he will be working on and off all the time. Thats a very scarry thought. So now Im even more determinded to start making and selling some of my knitting and crafts. I know its not a huge buisness but it should bring in some money and help out a little. They only reason Justin is still at that crap hole is because it is a steady job and with a family you need that.not having much money is one thing but having none is what im worried about.

I cant believe the prices or the beauty of some of the bags out there I've seen them at over 150$ wow. But i finally found a bag that is affordable and that I love. It will certanly be added to my christmas list- hint hint everyone!

Yes we have been busy- let me start by saying Ouch I broke my tail bone aw eek back trying to teach Lily how to do a somersault. I know I know such a simple thing but i ended up not going straight and went and slammed my ass end right into the metal bar on the pack and play. so lets just say it hurts and I'm sitting on one of those donut pillows feeling like an idiot. I finally went to the Dr. after incredible pain Tuesday and she told me tail bones have to break themselves again in order to heal right. All I can say is ouch.

So in better news I got my mei tai and love it. well worth every penny this is a picture of me trying it out....

Here is another picture of Gavin and I digging for dinosaur bones at echo however in this pic you cant see Gavin. echo is another place we went this week. While there I fell in love with the tomato frog if you have never see one look it up they are SO cool and move like humans however humans don't normally hop but you get the point.

so here is a picture of Gavin diggingwe also went to the farmers market and got some scrumptious food! Spent about $30 but its well worth it Look at those tomatoes.

as for knitting I have been working of a few things fruits and veggies for the kids play kitchen for Christmas and a kimono for Gavin I will also make a matching one for Lily! So keep checking for knitting photos coming soon!

i sit here tonight writing while my dear husband is behind me playing tom petty on the guitar it sounds so pretty he makes me so proud. I never write about him but as I sit here and all I can do is think of him. He really is a sweet man. He the man that cant leave without a kiss or end a phone call in a fight, hes the man i cant leave on the couch if he falls asleep before i go to bed. I love this man. We have been married for almost a year now, our relationship is now stronger then it ever was before. I am so happy we are doing so great. Before we got married I really was worried we would be miserable in our life but I still went on and married him. now i realize all that doubt was just wedding worries and stress. He truley is my best friend and a super bed buddy (he he). crap he turned of the lights better hop in bed. be back another time.

we will be starting pre k homeschool on monday sept. 10th!

Good morning Mommy, dont ask me when Gavin did this or why really but he ended up taking the diapers out of the bucket (the ones waiting for washing) and threw them in the toilet. It was a little bit funny but digging them out was not. Some how he managed to stuff 3 training dipes, and 6 fuzzi bunz in the toilet bowl. He told me "I washed the poop!" I contd say anyuthing but "Thanks" it was just too silly.

Today is one of those lazy days, Im hungry and bored, the kids are in crankie moods and I have no clue why. All I can think is to bring them outside and let them run free. That always works.

Last night the kids enjoyed Ben and Jerrys (gotta love all natural vanilla made right here in VT) I remember when I was a kid In the summer my parents would sometimes take us on the porch to enjoy our desert. I loved it, Im not really sure why it was so much more fun I think the outdoors and quality family time is what made it a blast. So I decided to do it with my kiddos. They rarley get dissert so thats a big deal anyway. They thought it was fun but they woundent sit down. Oh well it was fun and we washed up in the sprinkley after!

so my living room is not done hence the reason I have not posted the "finished" pictures, I just cant decide how to put it. The way I have it now makes my small living room look tiny and feel tiny so the mission is still on I have a feeling it wont look much different when I'm done then from when I started.

Some exciting news is we went and collected some monarch caterpillars yesterday and got about 5 today one is already hanging in a "J" which means it will be a cocoon soon! we are thrilled. Maybe this year well actually get a monarch or 2. Ill be posting pictures once I find my damn camera. I lost it in the living room cleaning.

Today was cold only 65 we all wore pants and long sleeved shirts and ugh we had to put socks on. Gavin however refused socks, who knows what he will do when the snow falls and he needs boots. Nights have been getting better with him He is not climbing into our bed, thank goodness (sorry co sleeping mamas I'm really not the co sleeping kind). He is also asleep about as fast as he did in his crib. Who knew a 2 year old could stay up until 2:30 just because we changed beds. I have to say when he does wake up at 6am and crawl into bed with me I think its super cute I just don't want him there the whole night. Daddy and Mommy need that bed :)

Today I have had enough, Im sick off all this crap taking over my house. Im sick of not being able to move without steping over or on something. Today is the day I get rid of the mess! Dont ask me where it is going, it just is. Im going to rearange my living room, I do that alot. I get so sick of looking at the same scene all the time, I need to switch it up! Im embarrased to put the before pictures but i think if I do then It will give me more energy to get working so I can do the after pictures! Let me just let you know it does not usually look this bad I swear the pile in the middle of the floor I just pushed there so i could move the couch - anyone i need to sop making excuses. Point is I need to do somthing about this living space.
